Climb to Thrive is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit club.
Through discussions with other climbers it became evident that bouldering has been a significant positive outlet and means of recovery and management for numerous people experiencing a cross-section of mental health conditions ranging in severity. Furthermore, there is a growing body of evidence that climbing is an effective therapy to help manage depression, anxiety and trauma.
From just an initial idea, Climb to Thrive rapidly developed and a team of people came together to make it happen.
A chance conversation at the climbing wall with Jon Garside from the BMC quickly snowballed and suddenly we were in touch with James McHaffie, BMC Youth and Partnerships Officer and we were applying for BMC Affiliated Club status.

Then we were invited to have an Exhibition Stand at the Why Sports Creating Active Communites National Conference:
